THE GREEN WOMXN
a women owned company founded on the premise
that nothing should go to waste.
The founders of the Green Womxn are two colorful, crazy characters. Ellen Ann Kafkalas and Rita Kogler Carver who met during undergrad in the theatre department, became fast friends, and are sisters by choice. Both come from strong creative backgrounds in the arts, as well as hard-working parents, and mothers who did truly amazing things in the kitchen, and in their community outreach work. In that tradition, and in the spirit of reducing their carbon footprint, Ellen Ann and Rita have come up with ways to utilize all the parts of the plants they eat. What cannot be cooked is composted, but, as they have discovered there are gems in the food we throw away that can be turned into scrumptious canned goods. Items like watermelon rind, banana peels, pineapple cores and more.
They are also working on ways to upcycle fabrics, and other items, turning them into unique creations that make wonderful treats for you, your family and your friends. So bookmark the page and stay tuned for even more unique items.
